Bats

A bat problem can be a very big one for your home or other buildings on your property. While bats don't actively chew on your home, they do leave behind lots of waste. That "guano" and urine can accumulate over time, drip through ceilings, wreck insulation, soak sheet rock and particle board, and even cause structural damage.

Moles

Some sure signs you have moles on your property are visible mounds of dirt or noticeably displaced earth caused by their tunnels. But the damage caused by moles isn't exclusively cosmetic. They can also undermine your driveway, concrete slabs, and even do damage to foundations.

Raccoons

A raccoon problem can go well beyond having some garbage cans knocked over on your property. Raccoons that have found a way into your building or attic can rip up insulation, tear apart ducts and wires, and leave waste everywhere. This animal can also spread diseases...including rabies and roundworm.

Skunks

Everyone knows about the problems caused by the famous stink blast of a skunk. But possible issues don't stop there. Skunks are burrowers, and can end up under your porch or foundation. They will go after garbage, poultry, or corn. Skunks are also the primary carrier of rabies in the Midwest.

Groundhogs and other critters

Groundhogs (also known as woodchuck or gophers) and other burrowing critters can be more than a nuisance. Damage often occurs on farms, in home gardens, orchards, and nurseries, around buildings, and sometimes around dikes. These animals can also wreck your gardens, shrubs and other plants as they feed.

Snakes

Snakes can be an unwanted guest on many people's property. Snakes most commonly enter into homes or other buildings in search of food, or because they are looking for a good place to hibernate. This can lead to large numbers of snakes grouping together under foundations or even in walls. Poisonous snakes are not as common in the Midwest, but they do exist. If you aren't sure what kind of snake you are dealing with...it is best to leave it to the experts.
